DUI Deadlines

When you’ve been issued a DUI charge, there are a couple of deadlines to be aware of. These aren’t deadlines that the arresting officer is likely to tell you about.

Request a Hearing

You have 10 days from the day of your arrest to request a hearing with a judge. If you don’t do this, your license could be suspended automatically. This isn’t the same thing as your day in court, but it’s equally important.

Your Court Date

Your second deadline is your court date. Your written citation will tell you which courthouse you’ll need to contact. It will also indicate how many days you have to contact them before they issue a warrant for your arrest.
